Benefits Of Using Reusable Name Tags

By Ruth Kelly

In this economy, companies need to find all sorts of ways to cut back on operational costs. Employee badges seem like a mundane budget item to focus on but if looked at cumulatively it could make a difference on the bottom line. By using reusable name tags, the company is able to utilize the same item over years and different personnel changes. This saves the time and cost required by that little item.

Badges are incredibly important. The client learns the names of the server before they have to ask. It makes the interaction slightly more personal. It contributes to the customer experience, albeit a small contribution but a contribution nonetheless. In large companies, these little items are extremely important. Everyone is able to realize the position and names of a fellow employee without feeling guilty for not knowing despite having met at a company retreat a few years back.

For this badge to withstand time and utility by different people, it needs to be hardy. It needs to be resilient and stubborn towards harsh handling. Thus, it needs to be the best possible quality. Splurge once and get done with it. It would defeat the purpose of reusable badges to get a low-quality item that will break down before maximum benefit has been reaped.

Most companies like to go for the completely blank badge. It will just be a husk and the company can decide how to go about the presentation of information. Either the company will use markers to write names on a piece of paper then insert or they could be a little more conscientious about it and print along with the company logo and maybe a slogan.

The company could also decide to get badges that have already been fitted with the logo and some color. Space will be left on the slate to outfit names. Possible a position and some other information too. The company should ensure to give precise instructions, as these will determine how much space is left.

Ensure the information is printed in big bold block letters. The names should be presented in spoken order. That is the given name first then the surname. The given name could be presented in a bigger font than the second. This is an unspoken invitation to be on a first name basis with the clients. Leave honorifics like Miss and Mr out of it.

Imagine an event planner who handles conferences and company retreats. This planner is going to need new badges every time. However, if they have this type they can cut the cost of that particular overhead and concentrate on other aspects. There will be a bit of a challenge getting all of them back but it can be arranged.

Another planner for weddings and other sorts of parties. There is need to distinguish between guests and staff. The positions in these party planning companies are usually very high turnover. They like to hire temporary workers, people who are only available on specific days and not permanent employees. This type would be very useful for such a company.
