Overview On Phone Systems And Voip

There are various ways in communicating with the advent of recent technology. The only tendency it has is that it would consistently grow at a fast rate. A lot of businesses and residential owners have been adapting to these technology due to many reasons for cost and convenience.

These homeowners and business establishments have a lot of options that they can choose from with this technology for their communication needs. There are many phone systems Dallas that they can opt for. But of course, depending on the scale of their needs, it would entail a few disadvantages as well as many advantages.

VoIP which also means Voice over Internet Protocol is a type of communication for voice that is done over the internet. This is different from the usual landline phones which have a different type of connection. This can provide many advantages and other functionalities that the regular landline is limited to.

There are some software or programs that are made for residential uses where they can have video and audio chats which is still considered a VoIP as long as there is the right speed and the equipment like a microphone and headset or speakers. But in a larger scale for business purposes, it would not be that efficient. That is why there are providers for VoIP in different telecommunications that can give this for commercial use.

Basically, most of the telephone systems are running on PBX or Private Branch Exchange. Any system which automatically redirects or directs calls from each other is an automatic switchboard system. So if any system that has this kind of nature would then be called a PBX. Because of having to install one direct line for each employee in businesses, it costs more so they used this instead since it only needs one line and can have multiple independent extensions.

The VoiP has a great advantage when it comes to switching between two lines. It can be used both in the Public Switched Telephone Network or PSTN and the PBX. The PSTN is actually a collection of various telephone company providers which operate and maintain various lines and cables, like satellite, cellular, optics, and undersea.

You can differentiate PBX with VoIP. In other words, VoIP is a kind of PBX but can actually do more with it compared to other types. The regular ones uses Time Division Multiplexing or TDM while the other uses Internet Protocol Technology. This can also be given by a provider for internet or also for PSTN.

A lot of businesses utilize this kind of technology because of the sheer flexibility of this system to be able to have it integrated in any other system. The costs for developing and for managing this would be considerably lesser as well. It makes it easier for them to conduct these changes without having to install new types of technology as a whole.

There are basic features for this. Part of this is for direct dialing and caller ID, auto attendant, call waiting, pickup, park, calling, and forwards, conference calling, voicemails, virtual or remote extensions, and managing through web based applications and integration. Calls may also be queued, recorded, and monitored for it to initialize and generate reports. These are only basic features, and there are more that can be integrated along with your own system.
